It does give hope that spring is coming. I might have cropped out some, not all, of the blurred grass at the bottom. I find it a little distracting. I like the sharpness of the grass with the out of focus background.
It surprises me that anything can survive under all that snow, let alone grow. This shot really proves the DOF lesson that everyone was teaching me last month when I thought I had camera shake or wind movement... with the DOF in front and behind it all makes more sense to see it like this.
This blog is a personal challenge to learn more about photography. I am following the guidelines at Virtual Photowalk. My tools are all inexpensive or free. I use a Nikon point and shoot, the S620 and free editing software (Picasa and Gimp).
Spectacular details and great contrast against that snow!!!

ReplyDeleteI think what really completes the story here is that patch of snow in the background. Great eye!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great image with a story to tell. I, too, would not have left the unfocused grass in the foreground. To me, it is distracting.
ReplyDeleteYeeey for spring! :D
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lorri - the snow in the background really makes the story complete in this picture. Well done!
